Emerging UK-listed emulsion fuel supplier Quadrise Fuels International plc (QFI) Wednesday announced two appointments aimed at growing its Marine Fuels and Power business.

The supplier of Multiphase Superfine Atomised Residue (MSAR) fuel, which aims to be a less expensive emulsion fuel alternative to Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO), has hired Robin Lloyd and Sam Saimbi to senior management positions.

"The recruitment of additional management to take our key programmes forward was a key objective for the Company and this has now been achieved," said Ian Williams, Executive Chairman of QFI.

"These senior appointments will strengthen the Quadrise team and lead the commercial development of our Marine and Saudi Arabian MSAR projects through 2015 and beyond."

Lloyd joins the business from Mabanaft in the UK and will focus on marine markets, while Saimbi will focus on the power side of the business.

Both recruits will be General Managers for their respective divisions.

QFI early last year said it was conducting trials of its MSAR fuel in conjunction with A.P. Moeller-Maersk.

The company recently said that the recent dramatic fall in oil prices will have little impact on its MSAR product.
