Wrist Group is Denmark's Second Biggest Company
Wednesday October 30, 2013
Denmark's Wrist Group, parent of bunker supplier OW Bunker, has grown to be the country's second largest company measured by revenue, Danish daily Berlingske reports.
Established by Ove Wrist in the beginning of the 1950's, the group has seen substantial growth over the last decade, and in that time has increased revenues almost 10 fold to $14.6 billion in 2012.
The total puts it second only to Maersk, and ahead of better known Danish firms such as the Carlsgerg Group, who reported 2012 revenues of $12.3 billion.
Ship & Bunker reported earlier this year that Wrist Group is in the process of being broken up by its owners, Swedish private equity firm Altor Equity Partners.
