A dispute dating back to 2008 between A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd (Dan-Bunkering) and bunker supplier Chemoil Corporation that had threatened to go to trial in San Francisco this week, has been settled out of court.

"Late yesterday evening the parties entered a settlement and the case will therefore not go to trial," Dan-Bunkering CEO Henrik Zederkof told Ship & Bunker.

"Part of the settlement is that the details are confidential, so we are not able to elaborate further on the details."

In an emailed press release issued Monday, Dan-Bunkering said that the dispute related "to a number of supplies of heavy fuel made by Chemoil in Panama in the spring of 2008 which allegedly caused problems for the supplied vessels."

Chemoil has so far not responded to a request comment on the matter.
