CEPSA Expands Bunker Supply Operations in Northwest Spain

CEPSA said in an emailed press release Tuesday that at the beginning of August it will start bunker supply operations at the ports of Ferrol and La Coruña in the Northwest of Spain.

The supplier said bunker supply at the ports have been requested for a long time, and the new facilities will serve traffic sailing between North Europe and South Europe, America, Africa and Asia.

Supply at the ports will be by truck and one 3,000 m3 capacity double-hull barge, Monte Arucas, with rating capacities of 600 m3/h for fuel oils, and 250 m3/h for MGO, which will supply from anchorage at Ferrol and La Coruña.

CEPSA noted Monte Arucas comes equipped with radar to detect residues, as well as systems to combat spills.

The company currently has 55,000 m3 of storage for the new operations, of which 5,000 m3 is dedicated to MGO, 40,000 m3 to HSFO, and 10,000 m3 to LSFO.

CEPSA said it may expand that storage capacity depending on demand.
