Bunker operations have resumed as normal at the Middle Eastern hub of Fujairah on Tuesday after an Iranian drone attack the previous day.

Bunkering halted overnight but resumed on Tuesday morning, a local source told Ship & Bunker.

A fire broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone after it came under attack from Iranian drones on Monday, Fujairah's government said.

The attack hit the VTTI terminal, the local source said, halting all operations there except at the dry cargo berth.

A second source said ships were unberthed after the attack but had resumed loading on Tuesday.

Fujairah has come under attack repeatedly in the past two months since US and Israeli strikes on Iran caused conflict to break out across the region.

Marine fuel sales at Fujairah sank by 71.1% on the month to a record low in March. Under normal circumstances Fujairah is the world's third-largest bunkering location after Singapore and Rotterdam.
