Bunker Prices Firm in North and Western Europe

After what was, for most, the New Years day holiday, bunker prices were firm in North and Western Europe, but data from Ship & Bunker showed prices were somewhat mixed elsewhere in the EMEA region.

Rotterdam IFO380 moved up $3.50 to $590.00 per metric tonne (pmt), up $9.00 week-on-week, and gaining $4.00 over the last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) moved up $9.50 to $628.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $38.50 pmt. MGO was down $0.50 to $935.00 pmt, $2.50 higher than last week.

Fujairah IFO380 climbed $3.00 to $607.50 pmt, rising $3.00 in the last week, and $1.00 month-on-month. MGO in Fujairah moved up $0.50 to $1006.50 pmt, down $1.50 from last Wednesday, and $15.00 lower than December 3, 2012.

Istanbul IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $620.00 pmt, up $0.50 week-on-week, and falling $47.50 over the last three months. MGO in the port fell $7.00 to $986.50 pmt, losing $5.00 since last Wednesday, and down $15.00 over the past month.

Piraeus IFO380 moved down $1.00 to $601.50 pmt, a $0.50 week-on-week loss, and down $2.00 compared to this time last month. LS380 moved up $1.50 to $659.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $57.50 pmt. MGO dropped $5.00 to $957.50 pmt, $5.00 lower than last Wednesday.
