TGE Marine says it will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel gas packages for the conversion of three vessels to operate on the fuel.

The German engineering firm signed one deal with Rolls-Royce Marine AS to design and supply a package for an oil tanker, including two vacuum-insulated LNG tanks and gas processing equipment to move gas to the main engine.

In a separate deal, it also agreed to provide high- and low-pressure LNG fuel gas packages to MAN Diesel & Turbo for use on two Con-Ro vessels being built for Crowley Maritime Corp. by VT Halter Marine Shipyard.

Those two packages include vacuum-insulated LNG storage tanks, high pressure/low pressure pumps, compressors, vaporisers, a utility and safety system, and a control and alarm board.

"Having signed three further contracts for high pressure and low pressure LNG fuel gas systems in such a short period of time proves our ambition to become one of the leading contractors for medium to large size LNG fuel gas packages," said TGE Marine CEO Manfred Küver.

"We receive more and more enquiries from the US, European and the Far East market for different kind of merchant vessels and believe that, with several announcements to invest in the LNG infrastructure for bunkering, this market will gain further momentum."

Earlier this year, the company announced that it had received an order for an LNG package for a Qatari Q-Max carrier.
