With Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG integrating the Bomin Group into its business operations, the company is appointing new leaders to its Bominflot Bunker Oil Corp. and Matrix Marine Fuels L.P. divisions.

Matrix managing director Ron Disbro will retire from Matrix, Mabanaft's subsidiary in the bunkering business, at the end of December, and Robert Lake will become the new executive vice president/managing director of Matrix on Nov. 1.

"Ron is to be congratulated on his many years of service to the Marquard & Bahls Group, and for the robust and successful business he and his staff have built up in the Houston market," the company said in a statement.

Gene Owen will become president and chief executive officer of the combined Matrix/Bominflot USA and J. Philip Chesson will become the chief financial officer, also on Nov. 1.

The acquisition of Bominflot Group by Mabanaft in July created what the company described as "one of the world's largest bunker companies."

Matrix, which focuses on ex-pipe bunker fuel supplies in the Houston/Beaumont area, and Bominflot, which provides barge deliveries through port complexes in Texas and Louisiana, will retain their own brand names.
