Bunker Prices Down as WTI Falls to 6 Month Low, Brent at its Lowest This Year
Tuesday August 5, 2014
WTI has fallen to a six month low today and Brent the lowest it has been this year.
The talking heads are pointing to refinery capacity as the main reason for reductions in price.
Basically as we have been saying, the demand is just not here for oil prices at these levels.
Much of the reason for the run up is largely geo-political and can easily be adding a $10 premium to the market.
While there has been a decline in prices lately, one should not rest on their laurels as mentioned before we are one political event away from a large increase in prices while large decreases seem unlikely.
Decreases are much more likely to be slow and steady as we have seen here. Bunker prices were lower today in the primary ports.
