Finnish shipping and marine data company Eniram Ltd. says it has formed a partnership with Chinese marine equipment company Headway Technology Co. Ltd. to sell fuel efficiency solutions in Asia.

Eniram's data management and analytics technologies are designed to give ship operators and owners the information they need to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

By working with Headway, a company with both manufacturing expertise and a strong foothold in the Asian maritime market, Eniram said it can improve its position in the region.

"This cooperation will strengthen both companies in the delivery of energy saving solutions to ship owners and operators, helping them reduce their fuel costs during these challenging economic times," said Cao Xueliang, president of Headway Technology Co. Ltd.

Eniram's systems collect, measure, and analyse real-time data for individual vessels and fleets, along with information about ocean conditions, to determine how ships generate and consume energy and how their performance affects fuel consumption and costs.

With that information, ship owners and operators can make informed decisions about efficiency measure like propeller changes, hull modifications, and antifouling measures.

Headway is based in Qingdao, China where it has an R&D center and production base, and it also has branch offices in several other cities, plus more than 120 service stations in 56 countries around the world.
