Noble Group Names COO
Hong Kong-based Noble Group [SGX:N21] (Noble) says it has appointed former co-Chief Operating Officer William J. Cronin as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Noble said Cronin, a U.S. resident, has worked for Nobel for about two years and was "well known" in the industry and to the Board.
He has been in the commodities business for almost 30 years, holding a number of senior management positions, joining Noble in January 2011 and was appointed co-COO in July 2012.
The appointment follows the departure of co-COO Nicholas Robert Brewer, who the company reports has left “to pursue other opportunities.”
In his new position, Cronin will be responsible for Noble’s Energy Platform, Soft Commodities Division and, regionally, for North and South America.
Noble has more than 140 locations and ranked number 91 in the 2012 Fortune 500, according to its website.
The company’s Noble Bunkers division started offering physical bunker supply in Singapore in September of 2010 and in the Gulf of Mexico in June 2012.
