Seaspan Corp. [NYSE:SSW] (Seaspan) says it has received a 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) fuel-efficient containership, which will begin a 10-year, fixed-rate time charter with Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd. (Hanjin).

The Hanjin Tabul was built at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. using Seaspan's SAVER design.

The vessel is the third of five SAVER-design ships of the same size set for delivery this year, and the last of three being chartered to Hanjin.

Seaspan, which received the first of the SAVER-design ships in March, has said there is strong interest in the fuel-saving vessels from other liner companies as well.
