DIS also reports net profits for the first 9 months of 2015 of $44.8 million, compared to a loss of  $5.2 million during the same period last year.

"We have secured already a good percentage of DIS future revenues at advantegeous rates, expanding our fleet, allowing us to be ready to take the maximum advantage of what we think it will be a strong market," said Fiori.

Fiori explained that he is "very confident" about the product tanker industry's prospects for the medium to long term, noting, "product tanker rates are still gradually improving, leading to a very positive outlook for the current year."

In October, Ship & Bunker reported that DIS had launched two newbuild eco-ships from the Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard Co. Ltd – Vietnam.
