Four Dual-Fuel Boxships for German Owner
Monday August 4, 2014
Germany's Reederei NSB (Reederei) has ordered four dual-fuel containerships for a total of $280 million from Chinese shipbuilder Sainty Marine, industry news site Seatrade Global reports.
Four 5,000 twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) ships will be constructed starting in 2015, with deliveries beginning in 2017.
The order also includes an option for five additional vessels.
The Jiangsu-based shipbuilder warned that the new order is not officially effective yet since Reederei must still make the down payment, according to another report at news site IHS Maritime 360.
Last month, Reederei announced that its MSC Flaminia had been returned to service as an eco-vessel after a deadly fire put it out of service two years ago.
