SK Energy Starts Supply of 500 cSt Bunker Fuel
Thursday April 4, 2013
South Korea's SK Energy this week started sales of 500 cSt bunker fuel, a source from the company has told Ship & Bunker, making it the first refinery in the country to do so.
The refiner has been shipping the fuel from its 840,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery at Ulsan since April 2, 2013.
Currently, a single 20,000 metric tonne (mt) tank is being used to store around 15,000 mt of the product, but a second tank could be made available for use and that volume could rise to 30,000 mt or more.
"We're being flexible, it depends on demand," the source said.
SK Energy was unable to provide an indicative price for the product, but a market source in Singapore said 500 cSt there was currently priced between $10.00 and $15.00 below IFO380.
