Delivery of Two Bunker Tankers Delayed
ES Group (Holdings) Ltd. (ES Group) says delivery of two bunker vessels it was expecting by the end of 2012 has been delayed.
The company announced in June that the 3,400-dead-weight-tonne (dwt) Sea Tanker I would be delivered to its subsidiary, ES Shipping Pte. Ltd. in the third quarter of 2012 and be chartered to Sea Hub Tankers Pte. Ltd., but it now says delivery to the charterer is expected in the first quarter of 2013.
The vessel has arrived in Singapore and is now undergoing local certifications.
ES Group said a second vessel, Sea Tanker II, which is set to be sold to Sea Hub Tankers, is undergoing commissioning and sea trials in Thailand and will be delivered in the first half of 2013 instead of in the second half of 2012, as originally scheduled.
The company did not elaborate on the reason for the delay, but said the sales of both ships are expected to contribute to its financial results in the year ended December 31, 2013.
Both vessels will operate in Southeast Asian waters.
