Singapore is expecting a dip in bunker sales for January 2013, according to early numbers released by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) that were seen by Bloomberg news.

A January 2013 total of 3.38 million metric tonnes (mt) was said to have been released last Thursday, but the data was later removed with the MPA explaining that some sales information had not been included.

The drop would have represented a decline of some 6.8 percent on December's five month high of 3,625,700 mt for all products.

An official total is yet to be published but is expected this week, however data that has been released shows there was a 5.3 percent rise in bunkers only calls at the port, up from 3,151 in December 2012 to 3,317 in January 2013.

Overall vessel arrivals were up some 2.5 percent from 11,275 in December 2012 to 11,564 last month.
