Pakistan's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal will be complete within two months, Arif Hameed, managing director of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGPL) told a recent industry gathering, according to Pakistani newspaper the International Herald Tribune.

Hammed said his company is working to help consumers in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and other areas the company serves, where demand for gas exceeds the current supply.

The company is also working on a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant and exploring new gas reserves in Punjab.

The Pakistani government announced plans for the off-shore terminal to import 3.5 million tonnes of LNG per year in 2011, the Tribune reported.
