Bunker fuel barge owners have gone on strike at South Korea's Yeosu port, Platts reports.

The barge companies are protesting government regulations, making barge availability a problem as of Monday, sources said.

"Suppliers cannot quote for inquiries in Yeosu," one Seoul bunker fuel trader said.

"This strike may last till this Wednesday, so I think bunkering-only vessels will go to Busan area, then Busan barge schedules are getting tight."

Other traders said it was possible to receive fuel in Yeosu from other ports such as Busan, but with extended wait times for delivery.

Yeosu is one of South Korea's three main bunkering ports, along with Busan and Incheon, according to STL Global.
