Alliance Oil Trading Exits Singapore Bunker Market
Alliance Oil Trading Pte Ltd (AOT) has become the third player this month to exit the Singapore bunker market.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)'s official list of accredited bunker suppliers shows the company is no longer an accredited supplier effective January 17, 2014.
The supplier told Ship & Bunker it surrendered its bunker suppliers licence as it is in the process of closing its business.
Alliance Oil Trading were ranked as the 14th largest supplier by volume in 2011, slipping to 26th in 2012, and dropping further to 40th place for 2013.
Excel Petroleum Enterprise Pte Ltd and Lian Hoe Leong & Brothers Pte Ltd also exited the Singapore Bunker market last week after the MPA cancelled their bunker supplier licences having found the firms to have breached Clause 3 of the Bunkering Supplier Licence's terms and conditions by allowing other companies to use their Bunker Delivery Notes to supply bunkers.
There are now 65 accredited bunker suppliers in Singapore.
