Bunker Production Up 34 Percent at Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery

Bunker production at the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery in Russia was up 34 percent in 2014 compared to the year before, Gazprom Neft has announced, a subsidiary of the state majority-owned oil giant Gazprom

In total, 3.5 million tonnes of marine fuel were produced last year. 

The company said that the refinery also processed 21.3 million tonnes of crude oil last year, 5.2 percent higher than 2013 and almost the facility's maximum capacity of 21.4 million tonnes

2014 also saw the refinery switch to the exclusive production of Euro 5-standard diesel fuels, which it said that in addition to improving fuel quality, also doubled diesel output compared to 2013.

Total diesel production volumes were at 6.3 million tonnes last year. 

Gazprom Neft is the fourth largest oil producer in Russia, it noted.

Earlier this year, it was reported that parent company Gazprom had pulled out of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Estonia after facing difficulties due to economic sanctions.
