Fuel supplier and trader Bomin Group will be launching bunker operations in Copenhagen, the company announced Thursday in an emailed statement.

The company said the expansion is part of its growth plans for 2015, and will complement existing operations in the Baltic Sea region.

The company said that Copenhagen is the first of several planned expansions.

“Securing supply in key markets for our customers is an important part of the growth strategy for the Baltic region”, said Anatoli Belov, managing director of Bomin Baltic.

Though operations in Copenhagen will expand in stages, marine gas oil will be immediately available.

The company added that all deliveries will be supplied using mass flow meters (MFM), and Bomin will not charge port fees.

“Our physical offering enables us to take more control of the bunkering process, ensuring that customers are provided with quality products and at the right quantity, as well as looking at all opportunities to maximize their operational efficiencies," said Belov.

"We plan to phase our physical expansion within Copenhagen, beginning with providing products ex-pipe and by truck.”

In addition, Bomin said that trucks are available to supply smaller quantities of fuel to ships berthed smaller ports around the Copenhagen area and Southwest Sweden

The company first announced that it was looking to expand operations in the Baltic Sea region earlier this month, having said at the time that the region is an important market for its customers.
