Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC (Gazpromneft) says it has implemented a major project to optimise its supply vessel, Gazpromneft Zuid, in the Russian port of Murmansk, enabling round the clock supply operations and the provision of three types of lubricants.

Gazpromneft says the initiative is a cooperative effort with Gazprom Oil and Gazprom Neft - Lubricants Ltd that has already seen Gazpromneft Zuid supply 18 tonnes of TARO 40 XL 40X to the tanker Mikhail Ulyanov.

TARO 40 XL 40X is noted to be produced at the group's Moscow plant, and is intended for medium-speed diesel engines that operate on HFO with a maximum sulfur content of 4.5 percent.

In March, after growing its bunker sales 25 percent in 2014, Gazpromneft reported its annual bunker sales for 2015 dropped back 8 percent year-on-year to 3.7 million metric tonnes (mt).
