After growing its bunker sales 25 percent in 2014, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC (GMB) Monday reported its annual bunker sales for 2015 dropped back 8 percent year-on-year to 3.7 million mt.

The company was nevertheless upbeat over its performance for the year, saying that thanks to various improvements, such as those made to its fleet and infrastructure, it was "the leader of the Russian bunker market" with a 21 percent share during the 2015 year.

GMB also noted it holds a 20 percent share of ultra low sulfur bunker sales within the Northern European and Baltic region, while the deployment of a new bunkering vessel Gazpromneft Omsk at Novorossiysk strengthened its position in the Black Sea region, where its sales were up over 18 percent compared to 2014.

Looking at the year ahead, GMB General Director Andrei Vasilyev said the supplier's plans include providing liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering.

As Ship & Bunker has previously reported, GMB's bunker sales increased within the Black Sea region to 795,000 mt during 2015.
