Russian Gazprom Neft subsidiary Gazpromneft Marine Bunker (GMB) has revealed that it increased bunker sales volumes by 25 percent in 2014, PortNews reports.

Last year, the company's sales volumes rose to 4 million tonnes, up a quarter year-on-year.

GMB also increased the amount of direct-to-vessel bunker sales by 43 percent in 2014, meaning that direct-to-vessel sales made up 3.1 million tonnes of its total sales volumes for the year.

Expansion into new markets aided the results, with GMB beginning bunkering operations in Latvia, as well as at the Russian river ports of Novosibirsk and Tomsk, during 2014.

GMB now offers services at Tallinn, Riga, Constanta, 19 Russian seaports, and 13 of the Federation's river ports.

The company operates a fleet of eight owned bunkering vessels.

The supplier was said to command an 18.6 percent share of Russia's total bunkering market, making it the biggest player in the Federation.

GMB's CEO, Andrey Vasiliev, said this year his company plans to focus on modernising terminal infrastructure to optimise fuel delivery capabilities.

Earlier this month, Gazprom Neft said that bunker production at its Omsk refinery was up 34 percent year-on-year in 2014.
