GAC Bunker Fuels has hired new staff in Dubai after passing its ISO 9001 audit for marine fuel and lubricants trading and brokerage, the company said Thursday in an email statement.

Natasha Saini and Ahmed Al Darwish have been hired as bunker traders, with Saini having previously worked in the oil and gas industry, and Al Darwish being a fluent in Arabic.

"Natasha comes with good procurement experience in the oil and gas sector, and Ahmed is an Arabic speaker with a very bright future ahead of him," said GAC Global Director Nick Browne.

"The appointment of another Arabic speaker to the team will allow us to better serve our customer base here in the Middle East.

"Their appointments demonstrate our collective commitment to operational excellence and to recruiting and training young, talented individuals."

The company said that the ISO certification also showed GAC's "continuing commitment to compliance and corporate governance."

"Management involvement in core processes has resulted in customer requirements being met and business targets being achieved," said DNV auditor Marimuthu Kumaraswamy.

In September last year GAC also expanded its team in Norway.
