Cape Verde's ENACOL Installs MFMs on its Bunkering Vessels to Increase Transparency, Reliability
Cape Verde physical supplier ENACOL has announced in an emailed press release that it has fitted Mass Flow Meters (MFMs) on its bunkering vessels Baia and Dragoeiro.
The company said the investment in voluntarily fitting MFMs is aimed at reassuring customers they have "made the right choice" in choosing its services, and it would increase the transparency and reliability of measuring bunker volumes.
"They were recently fitted with sophisticated mass metering system, which is much more accurate and reliable than traditional methods," said ENACOL.
ENACOL said that traditional volumetric measurement has a margin for error of around two percent and bunkering takes longer than when using MFMs.
"It not only provides significant time savings but also offers reliable measurement of the quantities supplied," the company said.
"The amount the customer pays is exactly what he gets."
MFMs will be mandatory in Singapore from 2017, with some commentators predicting a temporary flight of bunkering customers from the port as a result.
