Eniram Releases 3 New Ship Efficiency Solutions to Reduce Bunker Costs
Eniram Ltd (Eniram) has announced the release of three new ship efficiency solutions, including enhanced speed optimisation and optimal routing solutions, as well as new Performance 3.0 data analytics software for cruise vessels.
Speed Optimisation
The Eniram Speed 3.0 is said to provide enhancements to Eniram Speed 2.0, further reducing fuel consumption and emissions for shipowners and operators by taking into account various factors such as prevailing sea conditions, weather, weather forecasts, required engine loads, squat and speed restrictions, as well as emission control areas (ECAs).
"Thanks to these new enhancements, ship operators will be able to better plan, operate and maintain timely voyages at the lowest possible fuel consumption," said Jussi Pyörre, VP Technology at Eniram.
"Using Speed 3.0 means there is less to configure and savings are achieved easier. On average, operators can expect savings between 2 to 6 percent."
Optimal Routing
Eniram Fleet Route KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) is said to be intended to provide additional energy efficiency optimization via Eniram Fleet, a web-based application that allows ship owners and operators to collect, analyse, and record data on engine fuel consumption, engine power, speed-power, and liquid natural gas (LNG) tank data across a complete fleet.
"Eniram Route KPIs offer savings by revealing the weakest areas in routing so the customer knows the areas to concentrate on," said Henrik Dahl, CEO of Eniram.
"With our enhanced route advice capabilities, we can further support crew decision making based on a unique simulation and KPI approach."
The Route KPIs are said to be based on a industry position ranking of 1-10, where a low ranking indicates better performance.
For example, a "cost ranking 2″ is said to mean a given leg was sailed within 20 percent of the best within the industry.
Upgraded Data Analytics Software for Cruise Ships
Finally, the company announced the launch of Eniram Performance 3.0, an upgrade specifically intended for the cruise industry.
"Eniram Performance is a robust decision-support tool that offers real-time operational guidance to optimize a vessel's overall energy management in order to save fuel," stated Eniram.
"The system predicts required energy and fuel consumption taking into consideration a wide range of variables such as wind and currents for each specific voyage."
The updated version is said to offer an "intuitive" widget that provides optimal guidance for operations and includes KPI view and integration, as well as a "visual energy tree" that provides data on expected and actual fuel consumption for a voyage in both monetary and Megawatt-hours (MWh) values.
In May, Containerships Ltd Oy (Containerships) announced that it had selected Eniram to optimise its vessel performance and reduce fuel consumption.
