LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Tuesday announced the introduction of a newly formulated NAVIGO 6 CO crankcase oil and NAVIGO 70 MCL AW cylinder oil, which it says provide anti-wear benefits.

"With newly designed additive packages, both products offer additional benefits with regard to thermal and oxidation stability, corrosion prevention and wear protection," explained the company.

NAVIGO 70 MCL AW, a cylinder oil for marine two-stroke engines using bunkers with sulfur contents between 0.5 percent and 3.5 percent, - i.e. non emissions control area (ECA) fuels.

It is said to have been developed based on the same additive technology used in NAVIGO 100 MCL, and offers improved engine protection from cold corrosion.

The company explains that NAVIGO 6 CO is a crankcase oil developed for latest design two-stroke engines, and is suitable for use with LUKOIL Marine’s onboard unit for intelligent cylinder oil lubrication, iCOlube.

The unit is said to use both high BN cylinder oil and new or used system oil to tailor the ideal cylinder oil for each engine.

"Our customers benefit from the improved formulation with enhanced detergency and dispersion and improved crankcase cleanliness and deposit control of oil-cooled piston undercrowns," said Stefan Claussen, Technical and Marketing Director at LUKOIL Marine Lubricants.

Both lubricants are noted to have been tested and approved by all major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

In Early May, LUKOIL Marine Lubricants announced it had launched an additional supply barge, LUKOIL Marine, in Singapore.
