LNG Bunker NGO SGMF Set for Official Global Launch at Singapore's SIBCON 2014
LNG Bunker NGO the Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel (SGMF) today said in an emailed press release its formal global launch will be at the Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON) on October 15, 2014, at 5.30pm at the SIBCON Cocktail Party.
"It's an exciting time for us. We were established in September 2013 and already we are pleased to have 70 members on board," said Brand, Marketing and Membership Manager, John Saunders.
"We are looking to speak with more members who work in this exciting industry to join us and get involved in the valuable work that we are doing for this industry."
SGMF says its sole purpose is to encourage the safe and responsible operations of vessels using gas as a marine fuel, and in particular activities relating to the supply and use of liquified natural gas (LNG) for this purpose.
"We have two categories of membership: Full Membership and Associate Membership. Both categories boast a wealth of knowledge and the members range from Port Authorities, Bunker suppliers through to Equipment suppliers, manufacturers, designers, P&I clubs and naval architects," said Saunders.
"We have a variety of members joining us. It's a chance to put SGMF on the map for the bunkering community, to show our members that the work we are doing will change the way the industry works. We have two principal technical advisers who are leading experts in this field and can support your projects."
Earlier this week SGMF said the lack of port infrastructure for LNG bunkering is "increasingly being seen as an opportunity."
