The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) will be holding a forum focusing on bunkering with new fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), the organization announced in an emailed release.

The session is expected to address issues such as recent developments in the LNG market, along with the availability of Emission Control Area (ECA)-compliant fuel.

"ECA's have been in place now for nine months, there are many new fuel alternatives but still significant concerns relating to safety and availability," said IBIA CEO Peter Hall.

Some of the discussion is also expected to turn to the availability and quality of new fuels in Russia, as well as the usages of data which could help the sector.

The forum is reportedly part of London International Shipping Week, which will take place in early September.

Early this month, the IBIA also announced that it would be moving to a new office in London
