Bunker Prices Gains Continue in Europe, Middle East

EMEA bunker prices started the month with continued gains today. Ship & Bunker data indicated IFO380 in Gothenburg was up $11.00 per metric tonne (pmt), and the product in Fujairah also made a double digit gain.

Rotterdam IFO380 moved up a third consecutive day rising $6.50 to $633.50 pmt, up $15.50 week-on-week, and $47.00 higher than the beginning of last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $7.50 to $667.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $34.00 pmt. MGO was down $3.50 to $980.00 pmt, up $25.50 since last Friday.

Fujairah IFO380 rose $10.00 to $645.50 pmt, making a week-on-week increase of $19.50, and $41.00 higher than January 1, 2013. MGO climbed $1.50 to $998.50 pmt, $0.50 higher than this time last week, and down $27.50 since November 1, 2012.

Istanbul IFO380 rose $4.50 to $661.00 pmt, up $6.00 since last Friday, and $42.00 higher than this time last month. MGO moved down $1.50 to $1033.50 pmt, an increase of $9.00 week-on-week, and $40.00 higher month-on-month.

Piraeus IFO380 climbed a third consecutive day gaining $7.00 to $652.00 pmt, up $11.50 since last Friday, and an increase of $49.50 month-on-month. LS380 moved down $3.00 to $717.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $65.50 pmt. MGO moved up $3.00 to $1008.00 pmt, $9.50 higher week-on-week.
