ZEMBA Buyers Alliance Adds DSV, Google and Microsoft as Members
The Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA) has added DSV, Google and Microsoft as new members, taking its membership to more than 50 companies.
The three new members recognise both the challenges and opportunities involved in shipping decarbonisation, it said in a LinkedIn post yesterday.
ZEMBA brings together cargo owners and other maritime buyers seeking to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission shipping.
Online retail giant Amazon is among the early backers of the initiative.
Their membership is expected to add further demand for cleaner maritime transport and support the development of scalable and economically viable clean energy solutions for shipping.
ZEMBA uses the collective purchasing power of its members to help create demand for zero-emission ocean freight and encourage the shipping industry to develop and deploy cleaner technologies and fuels.
In December 2025, the initiative selected shipping firms Hapag-Lloyd and North Sea Container Line as winners of its second e-fuel freight tender.
