A new bunker and lubricant supplier, Atlantic Gulf Bunkering LLC (Atlantic Gulf Bunkering), has announced its formation and entrance into the U.S. Gulf market commencing August.

"We are very excited about the formation of our company and its launch into the strategically important bunkering region of the U.S. Gulf," Kirk Callias, Sales Manager for Atlantic Gulf Bunkering, said in an emailed press release.

"With our experienced staff and resources, we will be able to provide customers with custom blends and low‐sulphur fuels that meet today's emission requirements. We are looking forward to serving the market."

The Mobile, Alabama based bunker business says it will initially offer marine fuels in Mobile, Gulfport, Pascagoula and surrounding areas from a 2,800 metric tonne double hull barge.

The company said in the future it plans additional barges and expanded reach into other ports and locations, as well as deep water port development.

Callias is joined at the company by Samuel Carroll who will serve as the company's operations manager, with both Callias and Carroll said to each have over 30 years industry experience.

Several other employees are in the process of joining the firm, the company said.

Atlantic Gulf Bunkering says it will be working from several shore storage facilities in the region to ensure product availability, and will offer a full range of marine fuel products including a full complement of IFO products ranging from 30 cSt to 380 cSt, Low‐Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO), MGO, MDO, Low‐Sulphur MGO, Diluents, Lubricants, and custom fuel blends.
