The California Coast Guard Tuesday was said to be responding to a bunker spill inside the Port of Long Beach, Coast Guard News reports.

Approximately 33 U.S. gallons of heavy fuel oil (HFO) was spilt during bunkering operations on Saturday morning.

According to the report, boom has been deployed to contain the spill and commercial cleaning crews are underway with the clean-up response.

In addition, California's Department of Fish and Wildlife, Office of Spill Prevention and Response personnel were said to be on scene and monitoring operations.

A spokesman for the Coast Guard declined to name the company or ship involved in the incident.

Last year, a bunker spill caused the Houston Ship Channel to be closed.
