The delivery of a 2,200 cubic metre (cbm) liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge to Clean Marine Energy, LLC. (CME) has been delayed until early 2017, according to a report by TradeWinds reports.

As Ship & Bunker reported last year, WesPac Midstream LLC (WesPac), in cooperation with CME, signed a deal to have the LNG bunker barge built for use by ship operator Totem Ocean Trailer Express (TOTE).

The vessel, named CME Jacksonville, was initially slated for delivery in July 2016, but challenges in sourcing a number of required components resulted in construction delays, according to the report.

However, construction is reported to now be complete, and commissioning is said to be set to begin at the end of November, with final touches and gas trials expected for completion around February.

In May, Ship & Bunker reported that TOTE had awarded GTT North America, Inc. and GTT Training Ltd a contract to develop and implement a LNG training programme for the crew of the 2,200 m3 LNG bunker barge.
