Feeder Vessel Star Jupiter Arrested in Singapore
Wednesday May 13, 2015
A 735 TEU feeder vessel last Friday was arrested in Singapore, according to records from the Supreme Court.
The 2002 built German-controlled Star Jupiter was detained by local Singaporean firm Asia Practice.
Tradewinds reported that while the reason for the arrest was unknown, it was likely to be related to outstanding payments for services.
Online vessel valuation service VesselsValue.com has assessed Star Jupiter's market value to be $3.85 million, with a demo value of $1.2 million.
VesselsValue.com's VV@ service shows the Feedermax boxship is currently moored off Singapore's Eastern Anchorage.
In January Ship & Bunker reported that ship arrests in the city state had fallen 50 percent over the previous two years.
