Today's SGMF Launch at SIBCON to Be Conducted by Singapore's Transport Minister

The Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel (SGMF) has announced in an emailed press release that Singapore's Minister for Transport, Lui Tuck Yew will today conduct SGMF's launch event at SIBCON, on stand No. 33. at 10.15am.

"We want to lead the industry towards the use of gas and in the future some of the many other alternatives that are becoming feasible for shipping" said Mark Bell, SGMF's General Manager.

"SGMF has already established itself in Europe and America and we believe that SIBCON 2014 presents a great opportunity for us to connect with the Asian market," said John Saunders, the new membership based non-governmental organisation (NGO)'s Brand Manager.

SGMF said it already boasts a membership of 76, including equipment manufacturers, port authorities, fuel suppliers, oil majors, classification societies, ship owners, and naval architects.

It recently released its first official publication, Gas as a Marine Fuel - An Introductory Guide, and is working towards "inspiring responsible future shipping" in the words of Bell.

SGMF noted in the announcement that the Maritime Port Authority (MPA) was a founding member of the NGO.

SGMF was formed in May of 2013.
