Singapore September Bunker Sales Drop Again
Bunker sales during September in Singapore dropped for a second consecutive month to 3,326,400 metric tonnes (mt) for all products, down 6.46% on August totals according to official data published by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
It was the lowest monthly sales since 3,092,700 mt in February.
The port's year to date average monthly volume now stands at 3.586 million mt, and the 12 month projection at that average at 43.034 million mt, slightly less than last years annual total of 43.153 million mt.
However, year to date total sales for January through September of 32.275 million mt in 2012 are still slightly ahead of the 32.188 million mt recorded in the same period in 2011.
September sales for benchmark grade IFO380 were down 6.77% to 2.570 million mt, and 500 cSt product fell back 5.67% to 535,900 mt after a gain of 12.83% to 568,100 mt the previous month.
Vessel arrivals at the world's largest bunkering port by volume were down 0.53% on the previous month to 10,768, while bunkers only calls slipped 1.25% month on month down to 3,072.
