LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Thursday announced that it has opened a new branch office in Hong Kong in order to increase its market share within Hong Kong and the greater China area.

"Hong Kong has long been held as one of the most important and strategically located maritime hubs in the world. Its position on the Far East trade routes means it is in the geographical centre of the fast-developing Asia-Pacific Basin," stated Lukoil.

James Lee, Regional Sales Director Greater China at LUKOIL Marine is said to be heading up the company's new Hong Kong office.

"With the new office we are taking into account the commercial and economic development of the region and will further strengthen our presence in Asia," said June Manoharan, one of LUKOIL Marine Lubricants' Managing Directors.

"This way we are even closer to our customers in Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan," added Lee.

The office was officially opened at a May 27 ceremony that was attended by managing directors Manoharan and Jan Thiedeitz, and more than 50 guests from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The branch office is located on Hong Kong Island on the Central Plaza's floor 52/F.

Last year, LUKOIL Marine Lubricants announced it had opened a new warehouse in Gothenburg, Sweden in order to improve the product range availability to Scandinavian markets.
