Singapore Bunker Supplier Licence Cancelled After BDN Misuse
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) announced today that it cancelled G-Fuel Pte Ltd's (G-Fuel) bunker supplier licence effective December 15, 2012.
MPA said G-Fuels had allowed another company to use its Bunker Delivery Notes (BDNs) to supply bunkers to the customers of that company, which was a breach of Clause 3 of the terms and conditions of the supplier's Bunkering Licence.
"All licensed bunker suppliers are required to adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of the bunkering licence and the bunker supplier's licence is not transferable under the terms and conditions. MPA does not condone such acts and we will not hesitate to suspend or cancel the bunkering licence of any bunker supplier found to have contravened any of the terms and conditions of the bunkering licence," said Capt M Segar, MPA's Assistant Chief Executive (Operations).
As all bunker suppliers operating in the Port are required to be licensed by MPA, G-Fuel will no longer be allowed to operate as a bunker supplier in Singapore.
The supplier was in the top 21-40 suppliers in Singapore, according to the most recent MPA data.
In June MPA cancelled the bunkering licence of Winbuild Petrofin Pte Ltd after it too allowed another company to use its Bunker Delivery Notes.
