Omanoil Matrix Marine Services LLC (MXO) is expanding its bunkering services at the Omani Port of Sohar, Middle Eastern business news site Zawya reports.

The company added a dedicated 6,000 metric tonne (mt) barge at the port this month, and it can also supply marine gasoil (MGO) from a 500 cubic meter barge at any area of the port upon request.

MXO is the only supplier at the port, offering RMG 380 and MGO, and the gasoil is also available by truck delivery.

In the near future, the firm plans to begin providing ex-pipe deliveries at the port's Oiltanking Odfjell terminal through a 43,000 cbm IFO storage agreement.

MXO is a joint venture between Mabanaft subsidiary Matrix Marine Holding, Germany, and Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMC).

OOMC said last year that it would acquire part of a lubricant maker and start another bunkering business at the Port of Duqm in eastern Oman.
