Russia's Lukoil OAO has begun supply of 0.10% low-sulfur marine fuel intended for Emission Control Area (ECA) compliance, announced the company.

The company's Murmansk branch said that it would commence regular supply beginning in January 2015.

Regulations limiting sulfur content in marine fuel to 0.10 percent for vessels sailing in ECA waters began at the beginning of the year.

Last year Lukoil launched its "new grade" of marine fuel, "fuel marine environmental" (TSE), which was described as occupying an intermediate position between fuel oil and distillate products.
