Terntank Rederi A/S (Terntank) has announced the delivery of the 15,000 DWT liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered chemical tanker Tern Sea - the third in a series of four such dual-fuel vessels.

Following Tern Sea's delivery from China's AVIC Dingheng shipyard, Terntank says the vessel will be loaded with a cargo bound for Europe from the Far East before being put on a time charter.

The Ternsea's sister vessels Ternfjord and Ternsund have already been delivered, while the fourth in the series Tern Ocean is expected for delivery at the beginning of 2017.

As Ship & Bunker reported in August, Ternsund was the first vessel to be bunkered with LNG at the Port of Rotterdam, as well as the first to receive Rotterdam's 10 percent discount on seaport dues for utilising LNG bunkers.
