Eagle LNG Becomes Newest Member of SEA\LNG Coalition
SEA\LNG Wednesday announced that Eagle LNG Partners (Eagle LNG) has joined the founding members as a part of the cross-industry coalition.
As Ship & Bunker reported in July, the now 15 member coalition is intended accelerate the adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as marine fuel.
"We're pleased to welcome Eagle LNG as our first new partner since SEA\LNG launched in July. Eagle LNG brings a wealth of expertise and specialist knowledge that will be instrumental in our pursuit to accelerate the widespread adoption of LNG as a marine fuel," said Peter Keller, SEA\LNG chairman, and executive vice president of TOTE Inc. (TOTE)
The coalition is said to aim to collaborate across the LNG value chain to address commercial barriers, promote the development of LNG as a mainstream marine fuel, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of the industry.
"Eagle LNG is pleased to join SEA\LNG and drive the widespread adoption of LNG as a marine fuel forward with like-minded partners. We are already meeting the maritime industry's growing need for 'LNG as a marine fuel' with advanced environmental designs capable of operating within a small footprint," said Sean Lalani, President of Eagle LNG.
"We look forward to working with the SEA\LNG partners and firmly believe that LNG is the future of sustainability, enabling us to transform the way we think about our energy needs and the way those needs impact our world."
In May, Eagle LNG announced that it had begun construction on its "state-of-the-art" LNG plant in West Jacksonville, Florida, which is expected to be ready to supply LNG bunkers to Crowley Maritime Corporation (Crowely) vessels by early 2017.
