FESCO-Bunker LLC, a new bunker supplier in the Russian Far East, has joined the Russian Association of Marine and River Bunker Suppliers (Rosmorrechbunker), IAA PortNews reports.

Leonid Frenkel, the company's director general, said the company joined the association to help in forming a "civilised" bunker market.

FESCO-Bunker began operations at the ports of Vladivostok, Nakhodka, and Vostochny in April 2013 and has sold 120,000 tonnes of marine fuel since then.

Rosmorrechbunker, made up of 30 member companies that provide fuel for marine and river vessels across the Russian Federation, works to unite the industry and maintain a dialog with the government.

In recent months, the association worked to reverse a government ban on offshore bunkering.
