The delivery of a 5,100 cubic metre (cbm) capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel, which is intended to offer LNG bunkering services in the port of Zeebrugge, has been delayed from its initial planned date of early last month, TradeWinds reports.

The delay is said to be due to continuing efforts in fixing "technical issues" related to the vessel, which is noted to be at a Hanjin Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (HHI) shipyard in South Korea.

A new delivery date is reported to remain unclear.

As Ship & Bunker reported in October 2015, Belgium-based Fluxys announced that it has signed an agreement with ENGIE, Mitsubishi Corporation (Mitsubishi), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) to acquire a 25 percent stake in the vessel.

NYK Line are said to have confirmed that they are working to finalise the vessel's construction, while the vessel's other partners have declined to comment on the delay any further.

In September, NYK Line announced that, along with ENGIE and Mitsubishi, the company launched a new brand for their joint global marketing of LNG as a marine fuel called Gas4Sea.
