Viking Line Abp (Viking Line) says that the company's January to September financial results for 2015 have seen positive effects from low bunker prices despite economic downturn in Finland.

In the January 1 to September 30 period of 2015, the company says its operating income totalled €22.5 million ($24.31 million).

During that same period, Viking Line reports that its sales rose to €403.1 million ($435.53 million).

The company noted that the carrier's service area "remains tough" and expects pressure on prices to continue as a result.

Viking Line also reports that its income after taxes reached a total of €16.2 million ($17.5 million) during 2015's January to September period.

Overall, Viking Line says its company forecasts show that its operating income will improve "noticeably" in 2015 from last year.

In May, it was reported that Viking Line's first quarter results had benefited from the low bunker prices.
