Monjasa Wednesday announced it is celebrating its fifth anniversary of operations in the U.S. oil and shipping industry, and that it was eyeing opportunities to continue to expand and strengthen its presence within the market.

"In the near future, our U.S. office is bound to further penetrate the local market and develop our reselling capabilities in this area," said Juan Carlos Charris, General Manager for Monjasa.

"In order to heightening our U.S. market share, we will be looking to further strengthening our organisation. We already have an experienced team of bunker traders in place in the US and now it is time to further develop this solid platform."

The company notes that since the establishment of their Stamford, CT trading office in 2011, they have focused their efforts on engaging "trustful new business partnerships," and now have hopes of further accelerating the process.

Monjasa says it has also been working to engage local non-profit organisation, Young Shipping Professionals New York (YSPNY).

The bunker player says it will also be an official participant in this year's Connecticut Maritime Association CMA Shipping 2016 conference, which will be held at the Stamford Hilton Hotel from March 21 to 23, and will be hosting a related open house party at the 700 Canal Street offices on March 22 at 7:00 p.m.

In February, Monjasa Holding A/S announced the appointment of Svend Stenberg Mølholt as its new Group Chief Operating Officer.
