Two vessels this week have been arrested in Singapore, according to the latest records from the Supreme Court of Singapore.

The Mare Traveller, which according to VesselsValue.com is a 2011-built 57,000 dwt bulk carrier owned by Germany-based Marenave Schiffahrts AG, was arrested on Tuesday October 20, 2015 at 6:15pm local time following instruction from Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP.

The second vessel, Akademik Fersman, is understood to be a seismic survey vessel owned by Russian petroleum industry focused geophysical services firm JSC DMNG.

She was arrested on Wednesday October 21, 2015 at 5:40pm local time following instruction from Incisive Law.

The exact circumstances leading to the arrests are currently unknown, but such action is typical in instances of payment dispute.

Mare Traveller is the third bulk carrier to be arrested this month in Singapore, following the October 2 arrest of 57,000 dwt Supramax bulk carrier Alexandrit, which is owned by Germany's Conti Group, and the arrest of Greek bulk carrier Maria on October 9.
